Important Dates for 10th Graders
August: Invitation emails sent to all 10th graders to apply
September: 10th grade Meet and Greet at the Career and Tech Center
September/October: Presentations for 10th graders at all 7 high schools
October: 9th/10th Grade Open House at the Career and Tech Center
December 1st:
- Priority Application Deadline
- First round of decisions made
Mid-January:
- Decision Letters Mailed: Students who applied by the Dec 1st deadline will receive their decision letter by mail.
After the First Round of Decisions
- Most programs will be full
- Waitlists will be created for programs that are full
- 10th and 11th graders can continue to apply until two weeks before a program starts.

Eligibility Requirements for Career and Technology Center
(From the CCPS Program of Studies 2025-2026)
Students must complete the Career and Technology Center online application. Selection is based on the probability of success in Career and Technology Center and Regional Programs.
The minimum requirements for enrollment in a Career and Technology Center are:
- 94% attendance
- 2.0 Weighted Grade Point Average
- Successful completion of required prerequisites (prior to the program start)
- Promotion to grade 11
- Completion of coursework as outlined in the Pathways to Careers
Students who do not meet these requirements may still be considered for enrollment. It is recommended that these students improve their grades, attendance, and course rigor.
Selection Process
Due to limited space in each program, we follow a structured scoring process for applicants. Factors that affect this score include:
- Student's Weighted GPA
- Published grades and rigor in specific classes for the following subject areas:
- English
- Math
- Science
- Social Studies
- Attendance
Each student is assigned a rubric score based on these factors, and those with the highest scores are prioritized for acceptance into the program.
Important: No demographic information is considered in this selection process.
Post-Application Information
- Applications will still be accepted after the initial decisions are made.
- If openings are available or become available, all students on the waitlist for that program will be reviewed.

Decision Letters
Decision Outcomes for Applicants
10th graders who apply by December 1st should receive their decision letter by mid-January. Below are the possible outcomes of your application:
Accepted
- Overview: Students who are accepted will be automatically scheduled for their program by CCCTC.
- Next Steps: Your school counselor will work with you to fit your other classes into your junior and senior year.
Wait List
- Overview: Students placed on a wait list are not scheduled for a program at this time.
- Note: As openings occur prior to the beginning of a program, all students on the wait list will be reevaluated for placement based on current weight GPA, grades, and attendance.

Are You Ready?
At CCCTC, our professionally reviewed programs are designed to align as closely as possible with industry standards. Students and parents should review the fundamental career abilities and qualities found in the Are You Ready? section for each selected program. This ensures that industry standards of quality, professionalism, and safety can be met.
Please see the program-specific pages for a complete list of Abilities/Qualities and the skills students will learn. If there are any abilities or skills that a student may not be able to meet, please contact the CCCTC school counselors to discuss how this might affect the student’s safety and/or performance in that specific program.
